Frequently asked question’s

Here are the answers

  • maternity:

I would recommend having your shoot when you're around 31-36 weeks pregnant.

    newborn:

As I only take on a limited number of bookings each month it’s important to book as early as possible – ideally after your 20 week scan. These shoots can be done any time up to 3 months old, however to achieve the curled up, sleepy poses it’s ideal for your baby to be photographed between 6-14 days old.

    older baby:
Your older baby sessions can be discussed at your newborn session and booked ahead of time. If you are a new client, I recommend getting in touch and booking your session 2 months in advance.

    family:

If you’d like a weekend date, these usually book up around 2-3 months in advance.
Please get in touch and we can find a suitable date for us both.

  • The best time for your newborn photoshoot is when your baby is 6 to 14 days new. This allows for capturing all those beautiful sleepy womb like positions baby natural curls into. After this time, newborn babies may be harder to settle and things like colic and baby acne can start to flare up. This is completely optional however and I do adore capturing older babies also if that is your preference.

  • newborn:

Newborn sessions take from 1 to 3 hours depending on if we are doing a posed of lifestyle session. The timings of the shoot are completely run by your baby - I will not rush them as it’s important that they feel safe, happy and comfortable at all times. It is normal for newborns to take some time to settle, and extra time is allowed for within the shoot for feeding, changing and cuddles!

    maternity, older baby & family:

These shoots last up to an hour depending on the age of your children. This is the perfect amount of time to capture them at their best, without them getting too tired.

  • Styling is the difference between a good shoot and a GREAT one! I'm a big fan of neutrals. Anything white, grey or pastel with no big prints or logos will look gorgeous.
I also have a collection of beautiful dresses for you to borrow in the studio wardrobe. The most important thing is for you to feel comfortable.

  • Always! It’s easy for parents to hide behind the camera(I can vouch for that myself).
I encourage all parents and siblings to get involved in your photography session, even if it is just your hands around your baby.
